One of my favorite Christmas songs...about Easter!

"I don't care about marshmallow peeps
The Cadbury bunny gives me the creeps.
I wish it was Christmas today
262 days away."

Hi again,

Last December, I posted a brief history of the song "I Wish It Was Christmas Today", from Saturday Night Live. But there's more to the story.

On April 10, 2004, Horatio Sanz, Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan and Chris Kattan performed the song on Easter Eve (or Holy Saturday, if you prefer). Instead of their normal matching red sweaters, the "band" wore Spring-themed pastel tops, on a stage covered with giant Easter Eggs and plush Easter Bunnies.
Sanz sings about how much better Christmas is than Easter. After one verse, they ask a certain music "expert" in the crowd to critique their song.

And as much as I enjoy Easter, the song is right. Christmas IS still the best.

Happy Easter everyone!

J.A.
